2013 – Travel Plans

So finally I have come to a stage where I know my upcoming adventures. I am very excited to see a future where I know I will be traveling all over India and abroad. Here are my travel plans which I am very excited to share with you. Watch out for updates as I keep on adding new destinations:
*** (July) ***
Rajasthan –

Since childhood, The colors of Rajasthan (bright Marwari turbans, Holi colors, the colorful ‘Ghagras’ that women wear) have attracted me. This is the first time I will experience all of it. I will be staying with the locals in the countryside. I can’t wait to experience the life in a Marwari village. I want to take a walk in the farms, sleep under the stars outside my hut and wake up with the sunrise not by my alarm but by the farm rooster.

*** (August) ***

West Bengal –

I am in love with West Bengal ever since I visited Darjeeling and Tea estates of Eastern Bengal in April 2013. I will return in this August to experience the monsoons when the whole place is full of life. I will be staying a little away from the cities this time, preferably in a tea garden. I will explore the orange orchards for sure and how can I miss out on having Tibetan food with a local family.

North East India –

North East, the land known for being unknown. I am yet to decide which one of the seven sisters I will be going to this time. North East is so big and unexplored. I know it will take time before I can explore it all, if I can do that in my lifetime. Any suggestions on where I should start my adventures in North East from? Mawlynnong village in Meghalaya and Majuli island in Assam are equally tempting.

Punjab –

Punjab is known for its sprawling green farms, rich food, cheerful people and its hospitality. I will be staying with a local family for a couple of days. I want to see the daily life in Punjab, a life which is untouched by the hollow charms of living in a metropolitan. I can’t wait to share my experiences with you.

Himachal Pradesh –

I have been to Himachal many times. It holds a special place in my heart because few of my good friends belong to Himachal. This time I will steer away from the cities like Simla and move to the countryside. I will be exploring trekking trails known only to the locals. I wonder what Himachali food tastes like.

Dublin, Ireland (TBEX) –

The big daddy. I was a little nervous when I registered myself into Travel Bloggers EXchange (A confluence where travel bloggers, writers, PR companies and travel enthusiasts unite from across the globe). But now I am really excited about it. Busy and fun filled mornings and afternoons will be followed by amazing evenings at a local Irish pub with fellow bloggers. The thought makes my feet itchy.

And once this conference is over, I would not miss out on the opportunity to wander off into the fairy tale Irish country side, live in a farm, go for some fishing and try local cuisine and Irish Whisky.

P.S: I really miss Guinness too ๐Ÿ™‚

Thank you for giving me an opportunity to share this with you. I hope that with each share I leave someone inspired to pack the bags and travel. More to come in this section (November and December still remain, LOL). Keep an eye on this and travel along with me.
